Fears are growing as refugee and migrant numbers mount on the Serbia and Croatian border. Some charities and aid agencies have warned that children are suffering hypothermia as conditions have worsened. The food and medicines supplies are also running dangerously low, it is a truly desperate situation.
UNHCR spokeswoman Melita Sunjic, speaking from the Serbian-Croatian border, said: “It is like a big river of people, and if you stop the flow, you will have floods somewhere.
“There is a lack of food, lack of blankets, we are missing everything.”
The growing numbers congregating on the border of Serbia and Croatia have done because of the latest restrictions on border controls by some EU countries.
