Creator of ‘Russia Today’ found dead in hotel room, Washington D.C.

Former aid to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the man behind the creation of Russian Television also known as RT was found dead in his hotel room on Thursday it has been confirmed. Mikhail Lesin was found in his upscale hotel room in the Dupont Circle Hotel at around 11 a.m. Thursday when police were called a spokesman for the metropolitan police has confirmed.

The Russian embassy in Washington confirmed that the dead man was indeed Mikhail Lesin, they said that Mr.Lesin had died of a heart attack.

Mr.Lesin was press officer from 1999 to 2004 and presidential media advisor from 2004 to 2009. He went on to become a senior excecutive role in Gazprom-Media the largest media holding company in Russia today.
