
‘Islamic state aren’t winning on the battlefield so have went back to what they know best, killing civilians’
Thursday saw twin car bombs devastating Beirut, Lebanon, wounding over 200 and killing 40 people. Two suicide bombs struck the southern suburbs of Beirut, Islamic State have claimed responsibility for the attacks. ISIS claimed on twitter that fighters belonging to them blew up a bike in the southern suburbs, the first blast was outside of a Shiite mosque.
Another bomb went off shortly after inside a bakery down the street from the location of the first bomb at around 6 O’clock. Reports say that the bombs were 7 minutes apart, passers-by tried to help in the initial blast but were caught up in the second.
A third ISIS member was caught and literally torn apart by the crowd, police found him with no legs and a suicide vest still on. The area where the bombs went off was very busy at the time. Borj al-Barajneh suburb is known as a commercial center and a stronghold of the Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah.
Hezbollah’s leader Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah shortly after the devastating attacks vowed to keep on with the anti-terror campaign against Islamic State. Indignation has been across the board, this indignation means nothing when those giving their sympathies are usually the ones arming the “moderates” just to arm the extremists.
