Russian airforce has destroyed over 500 Islamic State oil tankers

‘Nearly 500 fuel trucks transporting oil from Syria to Iraq went up in smoke as the Russian air force launched deadly airstrikes’

The strikes were confirmed by Russian General Staff spokesman, images of the vehicles were also provided as was a video of the strikes which we will provide at the bottom of this article.

“In recent years, Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) and other extremist groups have organized the operations of the so-called ‘pipeline on wheels’ on the territories they control,” Russian General Staff spokesman Colonel General Andrey Kartapolov said.

He went on to say that this lucrative trade was one of Islamic States main income sources and that hundreds of tons of oil had been shipped out of Syria and into Iraq by the terrorists.

Russia has been hitting Islamic State targets in Syria since September 13th when President of Syria Bashar Al-Assad formally asked for assistance from its Russian ally.
