There is absolutely no doubt that the recent attacks in Paris were utterly deplorable. I was a little upset to see a sea of french flags across Facebook though, let me explain why.
I think it was a good initiative, and it allowed people to bear witness, show solidarity and sympathy at the click of a button, and that’s a good thing, but I couldn’t help but think about the victims in the attacks that were not French. Were they being represented by a semi-transparent flag on your profile picture?
Furthermore, It just illustrated the point that people will do as their told when the corporations tell them to. Were they paying attention to what was happening in Beirut at the time? Or Kenya? Or Palestine? No. And why not? Because the media didn’t tell them to.
Of course, there would never be a way of showing support and solidarity for all causes as easily as clicking a button on Facebook and having a filter over your profile picture. That being said, I will be attempting to do just that by superimposing a picture of the earth over my profile picture once I have finished writing this article, with the hashtag #humanaboveallelse , feel free to copy that if you wish to.
How to interpret the Paris Attacks
My first reaction to the Paris attacks was to stay vigilant, because all was probably not as it seemed. I was grief stricken at the loss of innocent life, and angry at the perpetrators, whoever they may be. But they also had my sympathy, which I will elaborate on a little later.
But there are things I want answers to. The world grew suspicious before, when Russia was set to recognise Palestine as a Country, and was warned by Israel that they would not be happy, then Russia suffers terrorism soon after.
It’s no secret that France was set to do the same, and give Palestine the recognition it deserves, for it was a well-established nation aeon’s before the foundation of the State of Israel. And then France suffers these horrible attacks after a warning from Israel that they would not be happy if France went ahead with this. Is this a coincidence?
The attacks were claimed immediately by Islamic State/Daesh, but that is a heck of a correlation there. There’s also the information we received in the early days of IS/Daesh, that there were high-ranking CIA operatives within the ranks, and it was not clear if they had defected to the cause or had infiltrated for intel, or even dare I say running it from the inside! The US need these boogeymen to keep it’s citizens scared and begging them for action. There are high ranking US officials that have come out recently stating that Al-Qaeda never existed, it was a US fabrication to justify their attack at the time in the Middle East. If we are to believe that, then is IS/Daesh the very same? Has the US created another Boogeyman? If so I reckon they are to stay that way until the next administration. Under the Bush administration they dealt with Saddam Hussein, and could have created Bin Laden. Obama dealt with Bin Laden and then could have created IS/Daesh. So if that pattern is right, the next President of the US will deal with IS/Daesh and then raise another bad guy for us to be scared of.
So where does Israel come into this? I mean we know IS/Daesh are firing US bullets from US guns, with US money, but how would Israel be able to use IS/Daesh as their weapon? Well of course Israel and US are so close now, it’s hard to tell where one ends and one begins, and to someone who is keen to expose conspiracy, it would be hard to tell who gives orders to who, but it wouldn’t be a huge leap to think that they may well use
the same resources and the same “boogeymen for hire.”
Of course this is speculation, but these points are not new, these worries and potential truths have been floating around for some time now, I am merely connecting a few dots.
Is Islam a threat?
No. I tend not to support organised religion at all personally, but far be it from me to cast judgement on anyone that does. I know people have been arguing this point now for ages, but Islam really is a religion of peace. Yes, there are some texts in the Qu’ran that might suggest otherwise, but to that I must point you to these texts which can be found in the Bible:
- Numbers 31:17-18 Now, therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
- Isaiah 13:15-18 Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword. Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished. Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it. Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.
Also worthy of note is Leviticus 25:44-46, Exodus 21:20-21, Deuteronomy 20:10-15, Leviticus 20:10, Exodus 35:2, and many more – see for yourself.
Context is key, and there are radicals and extremists in any religion, and also among those without religion.
I do however, fell duty bound to draw a comparison. In the name of another religion, extremists set out to found a new state where they could live under their own law, free of persecution, where they could renounce any other faith and basically persecute other faiths, within the confines of their own religious state, but had nowhere to do it. They didn’t resort to violence or war, but did apply certain pressures to certain governments, and was given land to make their own. Over the following decades, they stole further land, slaughtered the rightful occupants of the land, or held them without trial, subject to torture. They regularly bully the children of their neighbours, and have now successfully driven them down to a minuscule proportion of the country that once was, in which they STILL occupy with illegal checkpoints, illegal settlements, from which the natives are banished and driven away from by force, and along the infrastructure they have to share, military regularly instigate violence against any of them, even teargassing children on their way to school in the morning.
The difference of course, is that I speak of the Israeli State. But that’s more or less where the differences end. The land in Palestine was given to a group of “Non-religious Jews” known as Zionists. See my article: A Beginner’s Guide to the Plight of Palestine for more on the subject.
N.B. I am not, in any way shape or form, justifying or belittling the actions of IS/Daesh here. If anything I am trying to draw attention to the fact that Israel have more or less done the exact same thing in a slightly different way.
And the fingers of Israel now spread across the globe, controlling our media outlets and banks, influencing our governments and so on.
But as I said, there are radicals and extremists in any faith. The thing that concerns me is that now in the West, there is “Islamophobia” spreading like wildfire, and with IS/Daesh seeking out young Muslim men to join the “Jihad,” the situation reminds me very much of what would occur in the playground at school. Children in the playground would seek out a group to feel safe and at home with, and if they were faced with bullying, it was very easy for them to fall into the wrong groups because at least then they would have the protection of the children you might describe as “troublemakers.” Yes, they may have to do wrong to fit in and gain respect, but to them, the result justified the means.
With Muslims being all labelled as terrorists, we are literally pushing them in to the arms of IS/Daesh. We would better spend our time welcoming them and including them in our society, showing them that we value them just as much as any other fellow human, religious or not.
So in the wake of these monstrous terrorist attacks, don’t fall into the trap that the media is laying out for you on a red carpet. If all Muslims are to blame for IS/Daesh’s actions, then all Jews are to blame for the actions of Israel, All Christians responsible for the extremist death cults that have risen up over the years in the name of Christianity, and every atheist responsible for the actions of other atheists.
We are all human, some of us good, some of us bad. I’ve said before how labels can be dangerous, and for that reason I have kept only one – human. I am equally saddened at the loss of life in Paris, as I am for the rest of the world, and equally ashamed at the actions of the people responsible.
I have no doubt that we will see more attacks coming soon, and as you are all from many corners of the globe, I sincerely hope that you bear these things in mind should the unspeakable occur and an attack happens closer to home.
Sorry for the lengthy post and the tangents, and thanks for reading.
