Coup attempt taking place in Turkey- State broadcaster taken over and calls for Martial Law

Turkish military have taken control of state broadcaster TRT. Turkish President Erdogan has been filmed on a private broadcaster given a statement over an I Phone.

It is clear that President Erdogan is under pressure urging people to go onto the streets.

Turkish military have taken to the streets of Istanbul, gunfire has been reported.

A show of force has taken place across Istanbul with some analysts saying this coup could be nation wide.

President Erdogan give an interview to a private broadcaster on an IPhone, the pictures show me he is a man under pressure.

Erdogan has called for people to take to the streets in order to fight back against the take over.

The army has said it has launched the coup because of the erosion of the secular society in Turkey.

Erdogan has said there will be a response to the coup so things  are still very much in flow.
